Personal Project: Book Cover Design Concept.
The book that I chose for my book cover design is about a survival story of an American Frontiersman, Hugh Glass, who was abandoned by his tribe members after gruesomely being attacked by a grizzly bear. The series of events in the life of the fictional character Hugh Glass occurred in 1823 at Missouri Territory. The various plots of the story tell us the struggle of surviving in the harshest environment alone, badly wounded seeking revenge.
The Author of this Novel is Michael W. Punke and it was published on June 10, 2002. After that, there was an Oscar-winning movie with the same title released on January 7, 2015.

For the design, I approached with more realistic elements as they are more expressive and invokes more feelings rather than vectors for the story of this book. The elements like wounded human portrait, aggressive bear, and landscape scenes explain the cold, lonely, and gritty environment where the story takes place. Even when there are multiple elements, their placement, cool color tone, and simple typography have maintained the design to be less congested and not irritating or confusing to the viewers.

Everything blends well with each other which is one of the most important aspects of the design. Almost all the elements have been applied with painting strokes looking effect to give an overall “not so modern” look.
